The EAST AURORA FARMERS MARKET is one of the finest farm markets in the state, if not the country. Everything is grown by the farmers whom you purchase from. The quality and flavor of the fruit and produce is unparalleled. The East Aurora Farmers Market operates on Wednesday and Saturday's from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST. August 19, 2006 was a rainy day at the East Aurora Farmers Market, yet so many hardy souls came out and made the day a success for the farmers. Thank you so much to rainy day customers! Last big day for Childs Blueberries but we will have pints of fresh blueberries for sale right up to frost. Due to a limited late season supply and the difficult picking, there is a limit of four pints of blueberries or less. Most, if not all other blueberry farms are closed but Childs Blueberries keep picking the last of the blueberries from the middle of the bushes and such to extend the season just a little longer! Samantha is pouring and doing a final sorting of the berries, Carrie & Lela are packaging while Daniel takes pictures of the market. Notice those empty pie trays on the end. Mroka Farms has sweet cherries still, apples, plums and more. Gus the honey man is a sweet guy. Dan Clark has lettuce, cabbage, and more Jim Miller with cucumbers, peppers, garlic, flowers and more. Joe and Ester with beets, egg plant, basil, summer squash, tomatoes and more. Ester, Joe and son with beans as well. Look at those egg plants! Winter Farms with 50 pound bags of potatoes and fresh sweet corn and more. Tantalus Pizza has customers talking! This sausage is fabulous--chicken or pork in patties or links. Mike and Amy (by the truck) Zingler Sweet Breads and more Rozanne's Flower arrangements are always the talk of the party! Pete and Rusty (former market manager) with potatoes, squash, zucchini and more. Farm fresh jumbo and large eggs, squash, cucumbers, potatoes and more. "I haven't missed a markets since...." Carol has some beautiful Black Eyed Susans. Susan of Schwab Farms with melons, watermelons, beans, blueberries and more. Our garlic is great but come see us when we have tomatoes! Mark of Peppermint Farms says, "I don't do pictures but take some of the flowers!" Paul and Gayle Fenton of Corfu have corn, blueberries, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and more. Jerry Miller of Miller Farms has added eggs to his product line. Lisa's Greenhouse has cantaloupes, squash, pepper, beans and more. Some of you might remember waiting line for peaches from Al Weiss. Al sold his farm to Mike and Amy Zingler who are celebrating 10 years in 2005! Carol sells plants and flowers. Linda's baked good are so good! Mark Hess of Peppermint Farms sells unique plants, jams, and other items. Jerry Miller has some beautiful flowers and plants for sale. Gayle and Paul Fenton fine tune their display of fruits and vegetables. Joe and Ester have wonderful produce. Jim Miller has wonderful produce and was one of the first farmers to sell garlic at market. Gus the honey man Carrie Childs (with her helper, Tom) selling blueberries to some long time customers. You can tell it is "peak season" for Childs Blueberries because the big basket is out for sale representing the best price of the year. Good for the customer because they get a better price and good for Childs Blueberries because they sell the most blueberries when they can pick them fastest. Blueberry Wine for sale. Amy Zingler with some beautiful red raspberries! 7-13-2005 Mr. and Mrs. Rozanski posing with their purchase of BLUEBERRY WINE. They were the first to purchase the wine since Childs Blueberries received permission from the Village Board to sell wine at the market. Lou Rozanski coached both Peter and Daniel in wrestling at East Aurora with Stork Raymond in the 70's at East Aurora High School. Thanks Lou! Jean Rikki was the first person to make a donation to Roswell Cancer Institute by purchasing a BLUEBERRY COOKBOOKLET. Dan Childs students created the booklet as a final project. Customers write a check made out to Roswell Cancer Institute and take a cookbook. Mr. Childs forwards the check to Roswell. Thanks Jean!
